Resident Satisfaction Assessment

Our Resident Satisfaction Assessment is designed to gather the opinions, concerns, and overall perspective on our communities through a series of surveys sent to residents at all Southern Management communities. Our goal is to ensure that our residents receive the best possible living experience, and we feel the best way to do this is to ask.

Commitment to Quality Through Teamwork

Southern's Star Quality Program is an internal 12-month program through which we audit, evaluate and award points for performance to all of our communities and corporate teams.

Property Management Association

Established in 1952, the Property Management Association (PMA) is the largest real estate management association in the national capital area and is considered to be the largest association of its kind in the United States. PMA represents nearly 1,000 national capital area property management professionals who are responsible for an estimated 750,000 residential apartment homes and more than 120 million square feet of commercial space. PMA offers educational opportunities for the property management industry, and strives to build a community where members can network, exchange knowledge, and build careers.


Maryland Multi-Housing Association, Inc.

Southern Management is a member of the Maryland Multi-Housing Association, Inc. (MMHA), a professional non-profit trade association dedicated to meeting the needs of Maryland's multi-housing industry. The association provides education, legislative representation and information for the purposes of creating better rental housing communities. MMHA promotes the professional development of its members, advocating the interests of the industry in the public policy arena and improving the quality of life for residents in Maryland's apartment communities. MMHA is the Maryland affiliate of the National Apartment Association (NAA), the largest national trade association dedicated exclusively to serving the multi-housing industry.


Apartment and Office Building Association

The Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington (AOBA) is the leading membership organization representing commercial and multi-family residential real estate in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Formed in 1974 by a merger of the Apartment House Council and the Building Owners and Managers Association, AOBA's mission is to protect and enhance the value of its members investments through effective leadership and advocacy, dissemination of information, and professional development. Southern Management is proud to be a member of this organization.
