VIENNA, VA. (January 14th, 2019) – Due to the financial hardships imposed by the government shutdown, Southern Management Corporation is offering its residents affected by the shutdown a modified payment schedule for their monthly apartment home rent obligations. Southern is taking this proactive, customer-friendly approach to provide some much needed temporary relief to those furloughed government employees who have been adversely financially impacted by the shutdown.

“As long-term owner operators, Southern has always partnered with our residents and communities to provide help and resources for those in need. At Southern, we seek to understand our residents’ unique challenges and find solutions”, said Suzanne Hillman, CEO of Southern Management Corporation. “We’re closely monitoring the situation and will work with our residents on a case-by-case basis to help them through this period of uncertainty”, Hillman said.

Affected residents at any of Southern Management’s 77 apartment home communities are invited to contact their Resident Services team for additional details.
